The 2p, m=1 orbital

 

 

The n=2, l=1, m=1 state. Of course, the m=-1 state would look just the same. It is roughly a torus, that is to say, a doughnut, but unless you rotate it so you are looking at it straight down from the top, you will not really be able to see the "hole" in the middle.


Rotate by clicking and dragging with the mouse.
Magnify by dragging vertically while holding down the SHIFT key.
